Learn how to view submitted, processing, completed, or expired background checks in your Certn applicant portal, check your application status, and find out what to do if you need to update submitted information or your background check invitation has expired.
How do I view my submitted or completed background checks?
You can view your previous background checks in the History section of your Certn applicant portal dashboard.
To find a background check, scroll through your History list or use the following filters:
- All: Displays previous background check invitations, including archived, declined, and disputed checks.
- Processing: Displays submitted background checks that are still being processed.
- Complete: Displays background checks that have finished processing.
To view additional details, select the arrow beside a background check to expand it.
You can see:
- When your background check was submitted.
- When your background check was processed or completed.
- Whether your background check is currently in dispute.
Note: Archived background checks cannot be expanded to view additional details.
Can I edit or change my background check information after submitting it?
No. Once you've submitted your background check application, you cannot edit, correct, or update the information provided.
If you need to change any details after submitting your application, contact the company that requested your background check. They will need to order a new background check for you.
What happens if my background check invitation expires?
If your background check invitation expires before you've completed your application, you can no longer access or complete that check.
To proceed, contact the company that requested your background check. They will need to order a new check and send you a new invitation.
You can also archive an expired background check to remove it from your list of current background checks.
