Update your Employment Verification templates

You can customize employment verification templates in CertnCentric to better match your screening needs. Whether you're updating the default template or creating a new one, you have control over which details applicants are asked to provide.

This article walks you through how to create, edit, activate, or deactivate employment verification templates in a few simple steps.

Default employment verification check fields

The default employment verification check template collects the following information from the applicant: 

• consent and authorization to run the check,
• full name (including previous names and aliases),
• date of birth,
• employment history.
• SIN/SSN (optional)

You can create or edit employment verification check templates as needed.

Create or edit an employment verification templates

To edit the default employment verification template or create a new one, follow the steps below:

1. From CertnCentric, select Settings from the navigation menu.
2. Select Employment verification templates from the navigation menu.
3. Select the New template button to create a new template, or the ellipses next to the existing employment verification template you want to edit.
4. From there, you’ll be able to select:
   • whether to base the employment verification on a set number of years or a number of employers, and
   • the maximum and minimum number of  years or employers which should be provided by the applicant to be verified.

Active and Deactivated employment verification templates

An employment verification template’s status can either be Active or Deactivated. An Active template can be included in a case as part of the regular flow for ordering a check. An Deactivated template will not appear as an option in the flow of ordering a check. 

To activate or deactivate an employment verification template, follow the steps below: 

1. From CertnCentric, select Settings from the navigation menu.
2. Select Employment verification templates from the navigation menu.
3. Select the ellipses next to the template you want to activate or deactivate.
4. Select Activate or Deactivate.
