What is Address Verification?
Address Verification helps confirm whether an applicant can be reliably linked to the current address they have provided using trusted bureau and public data sources.
The check supports both automated and manual verification workflows depending on the applicant's address and the availability of supporting data.
How does Address Verification work?
UK addresses
For applicants with a UK current address, Address Verification is completed using an automated bureau search.
Where sufficient matching data is available, the applicant's address is automatically confirmed.
If an automated match cannot be confirmed, the check is routed for manual review, where an analyst may use additional data sources or request proof of address documentation.
Non-UK addresses
For applicants with a non-UK address, the check is completed through a manual verification process using available data sources and supporting documentation.
What information is required?
Applicants must provide:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Current address
Address Verification is performed against the applicant's current address only. Previous names and address history are not currently supported.
What results can be returned?
Confirmed
The applicant could be reliably linked to the current address provided.
The report will include:
- Verification result
- Evidence source
- Supporting details (where applicable)
Not Confirmed
The applicant could not be reliably linked to the current address using the available data sources or supporting documentation.
The report will include the reason the address could not be confirmed where available.
Evidence Sources
Evidence may be derived from one or more of the following:
- Electoral Register
- Credit bureau data
- Public information
- Proof of address documentation (manual review)
- Other supporting data sources
Turnaround Times
Turnaround times vary depending on the applicant's address and whether manual review is required.
Many UK checks are completed automatically within seconds. Checks requiring manual review, including all non-UK addresses, will take longer to complete.

What happens if the address cannot be verified?
