When a Canadian Criminal Record Check (CCRC) is complete, you can view the results from the case’s case details page. The information in the report is populated as the checks in the case are completed.

Note: If the OneID check included in the case cannot verify the applicant’s identity, the Canadian Criminal Record Check will be cancelled and no results will be reported.

Explanation of results
When you order a Canadian Criminal Record Check through CertnCentric, you order either a basic or enhanced check.
Basic Canadian Criminal Record Checks are given one of 3 check results once the check is complete: Results found, No match found, or Review.
Enhanced Canadian Criminal Record Checks are given one of 2 check results once the check is complete: Clear, or Not clear.
Basic Canadian Criminal Record Check results
Review
This check result is typically returned if any of the following is true:
- The CCRC found one or more criminal convictions not disclosed by the applicant, or which do not match those disclosed by the applicant. This includes whether the applicant disclosed more or fewer convictions than were found by the CCRC.
- The details of one or more disclosed criminal convictions do not match the results of the CCRC. These details can include the name, date, or court location.
- Typically the dates given by an applicant must be accurate within 2 years to be considered a match.
- The check could not be completed using the name and date of birth provided by the applicant.
No match found
This check result is returned when both of the following are true:
- The applicant did not disclose any criminal convictions, and
- The CCRC did not find any criminal convictions.
Results found
This check result is typically returned when both of the following are true:
- The applicant has disclosed one or more criminal convictions, and
- The CCRC has found the applicant accurately disclosed their convictions.
Enhanced Canadian Criminal Record Check results
The Enhanced Canadian Criminal Record Check does not include details of an applicant’s criminal history. Results of this check are based on disclosable record information regarding summary convictions, outstanding warrants, pending court charges, indictable offences, peace bonds, and any prohibitions or probation orders in effect from both the Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) Investigative Data Bank and the Public Safety Portal (PSP).
Clear
This check result is returned if the Enhanced CCRC does not return any results.
Not clear
This check result is returned if the Enhanced CCRC returns any results.
